Peru Here We Come!

 We leave very very early tomorrow morning for Peru!! (YIKES). My mom is driving us to the airport. It's been a whirlwind summer of house improvements (still not done), friend's weddings, and just generally being busy. But here are the cliff notes of our trip.

Short Itinerary:

• August 28 - Fly to Lima, sleep in Lima
• August 29 - Fly to Cusco early, explore Cusco, stay at a hostel in Cusco
• August 30 - Explore Sacred Valley, stay at a hostel in Cusco
• August 31 - Inca Trail Hike
• September 1 - Inca Trail Hike
• September 2 - Inca Trail Hike
• September 3 - Finish hike to Machu Picchu, stay at a hostel in Cusco
• September 4 - More Cusco, fly to Lima late, sleep in Lima
• September 5 - Explore Lima, sleep in Lima
• September 6 - Fly home

Flights:

• August 28 - American Airlines - Leave MSP at 5:09am, land in Miami at 9:45am, Leave Miami at 12:23pm, land in Lima at 4:55pm
• August 29 - Viva Air - Leave Lima 5:55am, land in Cusco at 7:17am
• September 4 - Viva Air - Leave Cusco at 8:00pm, land in Lima at 9:30pm
• September 6 - American Airlines - Leave Lima at 5:45am, land in Dallas at 12:50pm, Leave Dallas 3:31pm, land in MSP at 5:53pm
  

The main, big highlight of the trip will be hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu with a tour company called "Salkantay Trekking". Here is a link to their website about it. We will start that August 31 and end on the evening of September 3 (4 days, 3 nights). The trail is about 26 miles long total. There are porters with the company that carry all of our stuff for us other than a day pack that we carry ourselves. It's probably the most famous hike in the entire world. 

We spoke to the tour company yesterday through WhatsApp and they told us we are doing a marketing hike for them lol. So they are bringing a marketing team to take pictures of me and Lacey hiking the trail for their website. So we'll be kind of famous I guess? I dunno. I wanted to ask them if they were sure about having us on their website but whatevs. We get a discount for doing it sooooo yeah.

We have our covid test this Friday at 12pm so that we can fly. We'll do another covid test in Lima on the way back so we can fly back home.
