Flying - Indoors and Outdoors

Lacey and I have had an insane last 48 hours. Well, really an insane last week. From stressing about wedding photos and worrying about guests traveling. To the actual stress of the rehearsal and wedding day, we needed a few days off to literally just relax. Unfortunately, when we planned our trip 6 months ago, we didn't consider these circumstances.

Anyone reading this blog should know why we were really busy last Friday and Saturday. Sunday was a recovery day mixed with opening presents and getting trip stuff ready. Monday was solely focused on printing trip information, finalizing last-minute information, and complete packing.

Tuesday morning Lacey and I took my two older nephews to iFly in Minnetonka (by Ridgedale). iFly has a huge wind tunnel that simulates really free fall and skydiving. Lacey and I did it in Denver 3 years ago and we have wanted to take my nephews ever since.

We woke up by 7am and made the journey down to iFly. Because of the way we scheduled it, Lacey had to go by herself at 9am. We all thought she did a great job. The worker did a "high fly package" for her for free which was great. During this part, the instructor takes hold of you and makes you go super high in the tunnel then come back down.

The next group was me, Sam, and Simon. Lacey and I had built up the flying to be super duper fun so I was a little nervous if the boys would like it or not. Sam and Simon did a great job getting used to flying. They both did a "high fly" as well. I did not and just focused on getting my balance on my own and spinning in place. It was so fun!

We continued on our busy day by dropping the boys back off at home. We said goodbye to everyone and headed off to our apartment to pick up Loki (our cat). Our friends Ellie and Jordan are watching him while we're gone. They have a kitty of their own named Pearl. It was kind of sad dropping him off (he's neurotic and is used to being on his own) but we know they'll take good care of him.

Our last stop was to grab all our stuff and head off to my work. Our friend Josh T drove us down to the airport. We checked in easy peasy. The airport was the slowest (least busy) I think I've ever seen it. We walked all the way up to a security guy and through the screening thing without stopping once.

There was about 2 hours to kill before boarding our flight from Minneapolis to Dublin so we went to an airport bar and had a drink and a snack. Then we walked around the airport for a while finding gates that had a bunch of people and seeing where they were headed.

The company we flew with was Aer Lingus and, man, was this an old plane. The original seat I had was falling apart so we asked to move. The flight attendant moved us to an exit row which was great! The legroom was VERY nice. We spent the plane ride playing Nintendo switch, watching movies, and doing some light reading. For dinner, we had a choice of chicken or beef. I'm a complete idiot and chose beef and it was so bad lol. The chicken was a chicken curry and actually tasted pretty good.

We landed in Dublin and got through security super fast there too. We charged devices and just hung out for a bit. The last plane ride from Dublin to London was very uneventful and very short (only an hour). We landed in London finally! I'll continue this day in a separate blog post. Overall, the day was busy but really fun. I loved being at an airport again and am SO EXCITED to be in London.
